DETAILS:聽 The Morgan Shoal Revetment Reconstruction Project is located along the Lake Michigan Shoreline between 45th and 51st Streets. The project is the latest phase of the Chicago Shoreline Protection Project, a long-term shoreline reconstruction project undertaken by CDOT, CPD, and The USACE.

In conjunction with its partners, the PBC is managing the development of planning, design, procurement, and construction of the Morgan Shoal Revetment Reconstruction Project. This event will serve as a platform for contractors to engage directly with PBC representatives, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the submission process, requirements, and expectations.

鈥淎 well-planned project starts with clear communication. This pre-submission conference is an essential step in ensuring alignment, addressing concerns and setting the foundation for a successful construction process,鈥 Ray Giderof, PBC鈥檚 Executive Director said. 鈥淏y bringing all stakeholders together, we create an opportunity to clarify expectations, review requirements, and promote and encourage partnerships, particularly with MBE, WBE and DBE firms. By fostering this level of collaboration, we will achieve excellence together.

Key highlights of the event include:

  • Information Session: PBC experts will provide information regarding the prequalification process, ensuring contractors are well informed prior to responding to the RFQ.
  • Q&A Session: Attendees will have the chance to ask questions and seek clarifications on any aspects of the submission process.
  • Networking Opportunities: Contractors will be able to network with peers, potential partners and PBC representatives, fostering connections within the construction community.

鈥淲e are committed to honoring the historical significance, beauty and function of Chicago鈥檚 shoreline through meticulous planning, design, and reconstruction, ensuring its preservation for generations to come,鈥 Giderof said. 鈥淭his pre-submission conference is essential for fostering transparency, collaboration, and inclusivity in the decision-making process while ensuring that we petition the best and brightest teams.鈥
