Austin Town Hall Park features a fieldhouse with an indoor swimming pool, two kitchens, a gymnasium, a performance theater/auditorium and a fitness center. Outside, the three-acre park offers a basketball court and children鈥檚 playground.

The Georgian Revival-style fieldhouse, which opened in 1930, was designed by architects Michaelsen and Rognstad as a close replica of Philadelphia鈥檚 Independence Hall. Michaelsen and Rognstad were also responsible for other notable Chicago Park District facilities in Garfield, Humboldt and Douglas Parks.

The PBC’s work at Austin Town Hall Park includes ADA upgrades to the historic fieldhouse: renovations to the restrooms and locker rooms and the installation of accessible exterior paths and automatic doors and chair lifts, as well as downspout repair and moisture mitigation in the facility鈥檚 basement.
